LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2024 – Honorable Mention
Royal Vega Restaurant, ITC Mementos Ekaaya Udaipur – LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2024 Honorable Mention
Royal Vega Restaurant at Mementos by ITC Hotels, Ekaaya Udaipur, designed by Art & Architecture Associates, received an Honorable Mention at the LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2024 held in Switzerland. The international awards program recognizes outstanding hospitality architecture and interior design projects that create exceptional guest experiences.
Royal Vega is part of ITC Hotels’ signature vegetarian fine-dining brand, celebrating India’s royal culinary traditions. The design concept draws inspiration from the rich architectural heritage of Rajasthan, translating elements of palace architecture and ceremonial motifs into a contemporary hospitality interior.
The interior narrative incorporates symbolic elements such as elephants, horses, and peacocks, commonly associated with royal processions and palace art. One of the most distinctive design features is the reinterpretation of the traditional “Chhatri” (royal umbrella)—an iconic element of Rajasthani architecture—transformed into suspended lighting fixtures that act as elegant pendant elements within the dining space.
The restaurant layout is designed to create an intimate yet luxurious dining environment. The main dining hall accommodates thirty-two guests, with table configurations for groups of two, four, six, and eight diners. Two private dining alcoves provide exclusive dining spaces for smaller gatherings.
Interior finishes celebrate Rajasthan’s traditional craftsmanship. Marble flooring with floral inlays, engraved decorative wall panels, ornate cornices, and arched niches displaying artwork by local artisans create a space reminiscent of royal palace interiors. The predominantly white palette balances the richness of these decorative details while highlighting the artwork.
Furniture design draws from traditional royal dining environments, incorporating intricately crafted seating upholstered in regal fabrics and custom-designed dining tables styled with gold-toned covers and motifs. Customized silverware further enhances the ceremonial dining experience associated with royal vegetarian cuisine.
The LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2024 Honorable Mention recognizes the project as a strong example of hospitality interior design that successfully blends regional cultural identity with contemporary design sensibilities, creating an immersive and memorable dining experience.
